Libor messes about with samples to great effect here on the Elektron Octatrack, my favorite sampler.

Elektron Analog Four Feedback Modulation Drone (by Daniel Troberg)
I love the intricacies Mr. Troberg creates here, triggering the amp envelope and resonant feedback + LFO modulation takes things on a bizarre journey.
No actual “notes” played here.
Here’s a quick snap of my new companion: Dave Smith Instrument’s Prophet ‘08 analog synthesizer. Lovely piece of kit, this, and I’m utterly smitten with its sound and inspirational ease-of-use.
I’m also a fan of the keys’ action and wonderfully sensitive channel aftertouch.

Not that far of a leap from what apartment 12J have experimented with in these past months. Different instrumentation, to be sure, but the energy of a piece like this is aligned with what we’re trying to capture. With less looping, 12J can tack more severe course changes, but this group distills something finer than most “noodling” efforts. Nice.
Ahh, here he is in all his amazingly groovy glory. I love this rendition of the tune, but I cannot decide between bringing the funk of the bass (I’ve always been fond of playing this line), or the synthy craziness he cooks up on the ARP! Man is Herbie Hancock a joy to hear.
Apartment 12J - latest sampling of some experimentation created live in our studio. This one features turntable, keys, analogue synth, acoustic instrumentation + percussion, sampling… quite a brew of disparate ingredients!
ambient synthesis from Amanda Ghassaei
In my experience, designing usability updates and putting forward an implementation was only half the struggle: perhaps the more difficult challenge was securing any kind of buy-in from the project’s stakeholders. Mr. Sharon shares his one-pager version of a study’s plan that is focused on those varied stakeholders’ needs.
